The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

With Robert Jordan’s untimely passing in 2007, Brandon Sanderson, the New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn novels and the Stormlight Archive, was chosen by Jordan’s editor—his wife, Harriet McDougal—to complete the final volume in The Wheel of Time®, later expanded to three books.

In A Memory of Light, the fourteenth and concluding novel in Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, the armies of Light gather to fight in Tarmon Gai’don, the Last Battle, to save the Westland nations from the shadow forces of the Dark One.

Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, is ready to fulfill his destiny. To defeat the enemy that threatens them all, he must convince his reluctant allies that his plan—as foolhardy and dangerous as it appears—is their only chance to stop the Dark One’s ascension and secure a lasting peace. But if Rand’s course of action fails, the world will be engulfed in shadow.

Across the land, Mat, Perrin, and Egwene engage in battle with Shadowspawn, Trollocs, Darkfriends, and other creatures of the Blight. Sacrifices are made, lives are lost, but victory is unassured. For when Rand confronts the Dark One in Shayol Ghul, he is bombarded with conflicting visions of the future that reveal there is more at stake for humanity than winning the war.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Truly an amazing ending to the series and done right. Epic and great closure.
  • Excellent. Writing. But…

… I found the gratuitous inclusion of a man “who likes men” not women as silly and unnecessary. I don’t know if the publisher pressured Brandon Sanderson into it or if he included it on his own but I found the other love and gender paradigm bending gambits played (by Jordan and Sanderson) throughout the series distasteful.

This series is perhaps the most complex I have ever read, with each character really evolving over time, and a large number of threads to follow. Sanderson really did a great job following Jordan’s work, making things virtually seamless. I especially like how pretty much everything was brought together in the end. A very intriguing story. I’m not quite sure what to call this - a mega-saga perhaps. Is this a new genre?

This is the definition of “sticking the landing.” Goodness
  • Disappointing end to a beloved series

Sadly Sanderson can’t hold a candle to Jordan’s level of writing. Events seem forced and so many plot points come from nowhere with little if any foreshadowing. Then things like Perrins sudden growth of power seems super rushed and forced. This book would be good if it were fan fiction but sadly it’s not.

This is most definitely the greatest fantasy book since the hobbit, you have to read from the beginning to know what’s happening but it was well worth the wait.
  • Perfect wrap up

Just finished reading through the series a second time, with no breaks between books. Couldn't love this series more. This book does an excellent job of wrapping up the many story lines and character arcs in this series.

A wonderful series full of extraordinary imagination from the brilliant mind of Robert Jordan, and a great loss of story telling for readers worldwide since his death. Thanks to Sanderson for stepping in and helping to give us the finishing work of this exciting story. I recommend this magical story to be read by all men, women, and young adults. The tale pulls you in as you are immersed into new worlds, different times, learning lessons of love and right from wrong, the true value of friendship and feeling as if you are having adventures along with your new friends and enemies. You will miss them when the books are all read but you will imagine the story going on past the written pages. Imagination at it’s best.

Just finished last book. Great stories, because there were stories within stories, great characters because they all grew up to become their final selves. We got to be involved with them all and of course, we always want the good guys to come out on top..
  • A series to complete (The Wheel of Time)

If you have read most of the books don’t miss the finish. The best by far is the last book. If you haven’t read the series, you should.
